Wanderlust Woman: Sarojini Naidu

As the seasons shift and October carries us toward slower, reflective days, we turn to a woman whose voice sang of freedom, beauty, and courage:

Sarojini Naidu.

Known as The Nightingale of India, her poetry was alive with colour and nature, while her life was an anthem of resilience and change.

This poem celebrates weavers, goldsmiths, and artisans which is reminiscent of walking the streets of India and our time working with block printed craftsmanship & heritage. Here are some of our block printed silhouettes…

Discover our current playlist:

Side A carries the soul of India — sitar, raga, poetic vocals.

Side B mirrors her lyrical, activist spirit — folk voices of the ’60s/’70s that sang of peace, freedom, and change.

Together, it feels like Sarojini herself: part poet, part revolutionary, part wanderer.

 Until next time…

Sarojini Naidu reminds us that life can be both soft and strong - a song of jasmine and spice, of words that rise like birdsong, of courage woven into beauty.

This is the spirit we carry into every piece at Naked Generation.

Join us next month as we continue our Wanderlust Woman series, celebrating another free soul whose story inspires ours.
