Running into the Year of the Horse

I do not always follow the Chinese zodiac.

I have never planned my life around it or looked to it for answers. But over the last few years, I have felt more of a resonance with its rhythm. Almost like it mirrors something internal.

The Chinese New Year begins with the new moon, usually between late January and mid February, and marks the start of the Lunar New Year. Each year is guided by one of twelve animals and one of five elements, moving in a sixty year cycle. It is less about prediction and more about energy. Themes. Direction. A collective mood.

Now we enter the Year of the Horse.

The horse in Chinese astrology symbolises freedom, independence, movement and charisma. It is fire in motion. It does not like fences. It thrives on momentum.

When the element of fire combines with the horse, the energy intensifies. Fire brings passion, visibility and boldness. It can be creative and catalytic. It can also be restless. It is not a year that encourages standing still.

Movement. Momentum. Wind in your hair energy.

Less hiding.
More running.

Whether you follow the zodiac closely or not, there is something powerful about stepping into a new lunar year with intention. Across many Asian cultures, Chinese New Year is a time of clearing out the old, honouring ancestors, gathering with family and welcoming prosperity and good fortune. Homes are cleaned. Red decorations are hung to symbolise luck and protection. It is about renewal.

Naked Generation has always lived in that space. Running barefoot. Floating fabrics in the breeze. Sun on skin. Freedom over fear. Pieces designed to move with you, not restrict you. Clothing that feels like a deep breath.

After a year of shedding, this feels like expansion. Like trusting instinct a little faster. Saying yes a little louder. Taking up space without over explaining.

Maybe it is the Fire Horse energy.
Maybe it is simply growth.

Either way, we are not standing still.

As we move through this lunar year, I hope it brings you bold decisions, beautiful surprises and the kind of freedom that feels like running towards something that truly fits.

Here is to momentum.
Here is to courage.
Here is to running like the horse. 🐎
